As we say hello to 2025, MAIA, a leading luxury PR agency in the UAE, is poised to embrace all the promises, potential, and challenges that come with a new year. Setting the tone for a fresh canvas, we asked three of our lovely team members to share their guiding words, aspirations, and intentions for the year ahead.
Their insights not only highlight their personal and professional goals but also inspire us all to pursue growth, balance, and innovation in the vibrant world of luxury brand communications in Dubai.
If you could pick one word to guide you into the new year, what would it be and why?
Ely Balmoria, Senior Account Executive
“Positivity.” I think that even during difficult times, maintaining a positive outlook can have a significant impact on how we live. It keeps us inspired, helps us change our perspective, and adds joy to our ordinary experiences. When we approach situations with a positive outlook, we not only improve ourselves but also uplift those around us. It feels like the ideal term to carry into the new year.
What’s one area in your role where you’d like to grow or develop next year?
Marwa Adeel, Senior Account Executive
I’d love to grow my skills in creating high-quality content, particularly in video shooting, angles, photography, and editing. The idea of producing content from vision to execution excites me—it’s incredibly fulfilling to bring an idea to life and see how it resonates with the audience. There’s something exhilarating about watching content I’ve created perform well on social media and learning what audiences want to see more of.
With the team already introducing video shooting sessions and editing classes starting in January, I’m really looking forward to honing this side of my work. It’s a chance to refine my craft and create pieces I can truly be proud of while adding even more value to my client.
What’s one intention you’re setting for yourself, either personally or professionally, in 2025?
Sarah Saad, Account Executive
Doing more things with intention in everything I pursue, as well as creating more enriching habits. This goes together both personally and professionally.
How do you hope to contribute to MAIA’s team culture in the new year?
Ely Balmoria, Senior Account Executive
In the new year, I hope to contribute to MAIA’s team culture by fostering a sense of openness and collaboration. I’d love to create more opportunities for team members to share ideas, celebrate successes, and support each other, especially when facing challenges. By promoting a positive, inclusive, and communicative environment, I believe we can strengthen our bond as a team and inspire each other to do our best work.
How do you plan to create more balance or joy in your life next year?
Marwa Adeel, Senior Account Executive
With “balance” as my guiding word for the year, I want to focus on creating harmony in both my personal and professional life. Striking this balance will not only help me manage my time and energy better but will also bring me a greater sense of happiness and fulfillment.
I also want to continue finding joy in the little things—something I naturally tend to do. This means spending more quality time with my family over lunches and dinners, helping colleagues at work (it always feels so rewarding when I can solve someone’s issue), savouring a good meal, enjoying a great workout, or winding down with a movie or TV show.
What’s a small change you’d like to make that you think could have a big impact?
Sarah Saad, Account Executive
I would like to take more steps towards being more sustainable in my day-to-day life. It’s something that truly matters to me and is vital that we all work on for the future of humanity and the natural world.
What inspires you as we head into a fresh year?
Ely Balmoria, Senior Account Executive
As we head into a fresh year, I’m inspired by the opportunity for growth and new beginnings. Every new year feels like a blank page, a chance to learn from the past and try new things. I’m excited by the possibility of fresh experiences, new goals, and connecting with people in new ways.
What’s one thing you’re most looking forward to achieving or experiencing next year?
Ely: Stepping out of my comfort zone and building stronger connections with media and influencers.
Marwa: A trip to the Amalfi Coast, something I’ve been dreaming about for years, as well as the personal milestone of purchasing my first car.
Sarah: Skydiving! On a professional level, I’d like to be more involved in the planning and execution of client events, especially with the new concepts that have yet to launch.
Stepping into 2025, these intentions remind us of the power of reflection, purpose, and growth. Here’s to a year filled with balance, creativity, and exciting new possibilities!
